What’s the difference between Basic and Bronze?

Basic and Bronze are different participation levels within Honor Society® membership.

All members begin with Basic (free) membership. Bronze is an optional paid participation level that adds additional tools, services, or benefits.

Basic membership is not replaced or removed when a member chooses Bronze.

Definition

  • Basic is the free level of Honor Society membership.

  • Bronze is an optional paid participation level that enhances how a member participates.

Membership and participation levels are separate.

What is Basic (free) membership?

Basic membership:

  • Is free

  • Does not expire

  • Provides full Honor Society® membership status

  • Does not require an upgrade

Basic membership includes:

  • Recognition as an Honor Society® member

  • Access to Honor Society communications and opportunities

  • Eligibility to apply for programs and scholarships when available

  • Ongoing membership with no payment required

Many members remain Basic members indefinitely.

What is Bronze participation?

Bronze is an optional paid participation level.

Bronze participation:

  • Adds optional tools, services, or benefits

  • Does not create membership

  • Does not replace Basic membership

  • Does not affect how long membership lasts

Bronze is for members who want additional participation features beyond Basic membership.

Is Bronze required to be a member?

No.

Bronze is not required to join Honor Society or to remain a member.

You can stay a Basic member indefinitely without upgrading.

What happens if I choose Bronze?

If you choose Bronze:

  • You remain an Honor Society® member

  • You receive the additional benefits associated with Bronze

  • Your participation level is active for the billing period

Your Basic membership remains active underneath Bronze.

What happens if I cancel Bronze?

If you cancel or downgrade Bronze:

  • Bronze benefits end at the end of the billing period

  • Your account returns to Basic (free) membership

  • Your Honor Society membership continues uninterrupted

Canceling Bronze does not cancel membership.

Does Bronze affect scholarships or eligibility?

Bronze does not determine membership status.

Eligibility for specific programs or scholarships is based on the criteria for each program, which are always stated separately. Participation levels do not guarantee selection or awards.

Why do some members choose Bronze?

Members who choose Bronze often want:

  • Additional tools or services

  • Expanded participation options

  • Enhanced convenience or benefits

Many members choose Bronze later, after joining as Basic members.
