What happens if my paid participation level ends?

If your paid participation level ends, your Honor Society® membership continues.

When a paid participation level ends—whether due to cancellation or the end of a billing period—your account continues at the free Basic level. Membership does not end.

Definition

Membership and participation levels are separate.
Paid participation levels add optional benefits for a billing period, but they do not create membership and do not determine whether membership remains active.

What does it mean for a paid participation level to end?

A paid participation level may end if:

  • You cancel or downgrade it, or

  • A billing period concludes without renewal

When this happens, only the paid benefits associated with that level end.

What happens to my membership when a paid participation level ends?

If your paid participation level ends:

  • Paid benefits continue through the end of the billing period

  • Your account continues at the free Basic level

  • Your Honor Society® membership remains active and uninterrupted

Ending a paid participation level does not cancel membership.

Do I lose access to scholarships or opportunities?

No.

As long as your membership is active:

  • You continue to have access to the Honor Society scholarships platform and available opportunities

  • Participation levels do not affect scholarship access

Scholarship eligibility and selection are based on each scholarship’s stated criteria, not on participation level.

Does my membership expire when a paid level ends?

No.

Membership:

  • Does not expire

  • Does not require payment to remain active

  • Continues even if no paid participation level is selected

Can I choose another participation level later?

Yes.

Members may choose to add or change a participation level at any time. Many members do so later when it aligns with milestones such as applying for scholarships, preparing for graduation, or updating resumes or professional profiles.

Choosing a participation level later is normal and expected.

Why doesn’t the end of a paid participation level end membership?

Honor Society is designed to be membership-first and inclusive.

This means:

  • Membership is free and ongoing

  • Paid participation levels are optional enhancements

  • Members keep their membership regardless of participation choices
