One of the first steps when starting a chapter on your campus is to find a faculty adviser.

The best place to start looking for a faculty adviser is to start with your network of professors and faculty members. These are people who you have taken classes from or know you well and your academic strengths and goals.

Another tip is to think of a professor who you would ask to write you a recommendation letter. Chances are you thought of the professor because he or she knows you, knows your a hard worker, and is confident that you will succeed. This makes a great faculty adviser.

Reach out to new faculty members. Faculty members that are new to campus are probably looking for more ways to get involved and meet people. This is a great way for them to immediately get involved on campus.
